Better For Our Planet

With the start of the new year, you might be seeing #NewYearNewMe everywhere, with everyone sharing their new year’s resolutions. One thing you can do in this new year, is trying to be better for the planet, and it doesn’t require radical, over-night change.
Trying to be better for the planet can be done in many different ways. You don’t have to completely change your lifestyle, you can just make small, regular changes that will reduce your environmental impact and create positive change. The graph shows how being 1% better each day has a huge impact over time. Think of the difference this could make to your environmental impact, or even your carbon footprint over a year, you can apply this anywhere you hope to make a change.
Small Changes you can make:
Try to shop more sustainably – look out for Fair Trade logos, recyclable packaging and other sustainability accreditations
Reduce waste, pay attention to what gets used and what doesn’t – whether it’s making too much food or letting food expire, this could help you save money too!
Make sustainable swaps- when you need to replace things you use regularly, choose a sustainable alternative, for example when you need a new toothbrush choose a bamboo one, instead of disposable wipes opt for reusable cloths, buy a reusable water bottle instead of always buying bottled water.
