Muddy Souls Charity Hike

In aid of north west stop

The Event

On Saturday 21 August 2021, some of AVRIO’s team took part in an amazing event in aid of North West STOP. A team of 30 courageous men took part in the charity hike led by Paul Rooney of Muddy Souls. The team hiked for almost 10 hours across challenging terrain in the Leitrim and Sligo mountains for this remarkable cause.

This amazing event raised over €3000 for this fantastic cause. The money raised will help North West STOP offer other services to more people and help to save more lives.

On this hike the team explored the Darty mountain range, Barytes mines, Devil’s Chimney and Eagles Rock

Muddy Souls

Muddy Souls, led by Paul (and with the help of his dog, Tango), is an amazing business which runs hikes and walks all over Ireland and promises to give you a special and unique experience that you won’t forget. They offer a one-of-a-kind adventure which will make you smile and promotes positive mental health.

Paul’s belief is that poor mental health and negative thoughts muddy your soul, and the way to cleanse it is to get out into nature and let the light back into your life.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. If you’re struggling, please reach out and seek help. Talking about our mental health openly is the only way to break the stigma. Getting into nature and exercising is a great wat to look after and maintain your mental and physical health.
