World Mental Health Day 2021
This Sunday, 10 October 2021, is World Mental Health Day. World Mental Health Day is an annual event organised by the World Federation for Mental Health with the aim of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts supporting mental health. This year’s theme is mental health in an unequal world, set following the pandemic exacerbating the divide between the rich and the poor.
Mental health is essential to our overall health, so it’s important to care for it and to do things that make you feel happy.
Getting into nature is beneficial for mental health, as spending time outside in the natural environment helps to reduce stress, improve sleep and reduce symptoms of conditions such as anxiety and depression. As well as this, making efforts to protect the environment and care for it is also associated with promoting positive mental health through the feelings of doing something good.
