🆘 Climate Crisis 🆘

Climate change is a massive issue today, and the crisis is becoming worse at a rate much faster than initially thought. A recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change stated our current situation is ‘Code Red’ for humanity.

Climate change or global warming has already had a number of detrimental consequences that will worsen if change doesn’t happen soon. These consequences have seen polar ice caps melt, rising sea levels, and more frequent extreme weather, which causes further damage through destroying wildlife habitats and even extinction.

Climate Change Impacts:

🔥 July 2021 was the world’s hottest month on record, beating the previous record set in July 2016

🔥 Weather disasters have increased five-fold over the past 50 years

🔥 Average wildlife populations have declined by 60% over the last 40 years

The IPCC report highlighted the role of human activity in unprecedented ways and has warned that some impacts may be irreversible. Almost every nation on Earth signed up to the Paris Climate Agreement in 2015, with goals of keeping rising global temperatures well below 2 °C this century and to pursue efforts to keep these below 1.5°C, compared to pre-industrial levels.
